Star of David Pendants

Among the various Jewish pendants available today, the Star of David pendants are definitely of the more popular kind. Almost every Jewish person of my acquaintance owns at least one of these fantastic pieces of jewelry. Have you ever wondered what makes them so unique?

The Star of David is a symbol which I think is the one most identified with Judaism today. It is not by chance that during the terrible years of the holocaust Jews were made to constantly wear one on their sleeve as an identifying sign for their Judaism. This wonderful symbol can also be found in cemeteries, decorating synagogue walls and Jewish schools, as the center of the flag of the state of Israel, and much more.

The road to adorning this gorgeous hexagonal shape as Star of David pendants was extremely short. Aside from its rare geometrical shape, this symbol has deep meaning as well. Historically, it dates back to the famous Bar Cochvah rebellion 2,000 years ago. Some even place it as early as the time of King David. On a spiritual level, as is written in the Kabala, it has special protecting powers. In addition, the Kabala states numerous explanations as to the deeper meaning of the shape made of two triangles.

These pendants are found today in various sizes and designs. Just a few examples of these designs include beautiful enamel work, fine filigree work, brushed finish, hammered texture, amazing 3D and more. A fabulous line of designs is those pendants which combine two symbols in one pendant, such as the Star of David together with the Dove of Peace or the Hamsa etc.

So with the wide range of Star of David pendants in today's Jewish jewelry market, you're guaranteed to find that lovely piece which will match your taste to perfection.
